【Upgrade—Web Upgrade (IP)】

In PTZ web interface, select “Setting > System > Upgrade”

1. Click “Browse” and select upgrade file.

2. Click “Upgrade” to realize firmware upgrade. 


The upgrade file is “*.bin” file.

It needs to reboot the device when upgrading wrong files; otherwise some module functions of the device will be disabled.

For PTZ, there are network firmware and PTZ firmware. When upgrade, you’d better upgrade both to the latest version. 

In ConfigTool interface, select “Upgrade”

1. Select the check box of the PTZ that you want to upgrade.

2. Click “Browse” and select upgrade file.

3. Click “Upgrade” to realize firmware upgrade. 

In XVR local interface, select “Main Menu > Camera > Coaxial Upgrade

1. Click “Browse” and select upgrade file.

2. Select the check box of the channel that you want to upgrade.

3. Click “Start Upgrade” to realize firmware upgrade. 

1. Connect PC with PTZ by RS485-RS232 convertor, check the interface intruction in QSG.

2. Open COM.

1. Click “Browse” and select upgrade file.

2. Click “Upgrade” to realize firmware upgrade. 

【SecureCRT--SSH print log】

1. Open SecureCRT.

2. Open a quick connection.

You’d better login in LAN. For WAN may have port mapping problem.

1. Select “SSH2”.

2. Input the IP of the camera.

3. Input the username of the camera.

4. Click “Connect”.

1. Input the username and password

      username: admin

      password: 7ujMko0+web password

For example: admin/7ujMko0admin123

2. Click “OK”

Select “Options > Session Options”

1. Choose “VT100” 

2. Enable “ANSI Color”

Select “Options > Session Options > Appearance”

1. Choose “UTF-8” 

2. Click “OK”

1. Select “File > Log Session”

2. Choose a path to save the print log.

1. Reconnect, input shell and work ID

2. Using phone browser or wechat to scan the QR code.

3. Input your work password, and there will be a captcha.

4. Input  the captcha after the check codes.

After input the check codes, this image means entering backstage successfully.

Common commands:

Show basic device information : armbenv –r

Show CPU usage : top

Open print log : redirClient or logView –r all 1

Check connection quantity : netstat –ant

Clear configuration : rm -rf mnt/mtd/Config
   rm -rf mnt/backup/Config

      then reboot.

 After the print log is open, reproduce the problem and save the log.

【Package Capture—tcpdump】

Install NFS Server

Run with administrator privileges

1. Select “Export”

2. Click “Edit export file”, and delete all the –readonly  and save.

lRigth click “Computer < Manage < Service and Applications < Service

lClick “Restart”.

1. Restart Server

Create a new folder “public” in C disk

1. Select “Advanced Sharing”

2. Select “Permissions”

3. Add a permission of Everyone with Full Control 

1. Copy the tcpdump file into folder public.

Ask R&D for the tcpdump file.

2. Login backstage of the PTZ by SecureCRT. 

The picture show left is by telnet. For SSH you can refer Chapter 2.

Input the command:

mount -t nfs -o nolock,tcp /home of PC

/c/public—share folder path

Execute permission: chmod 777 tcpdump

Begin package capture: ./tcpdump -i eth0 -w filter.pcap -s 0

Reproduce the problem and copy the filter.pcap file in folder public.

【Serial port Operation—Serial port print】

Find the serial port on the mainboard, and connect with serial convertor board.

Login backstage of the PTZ by SecureCRT

Right click Computer, select“Manage < Device Manager”to check the COM port.

Set the connection as the left picture.

Baud rate 115200

Disable RTS/CTS

Login backstage of the PTZ by SecureCRT

Press ***** while booting up.

Save the log file

Input set dh_keyboard 0,and save

Input reset

Reproduce the problem.

After collecting the information, change dh_keyboard back to 1, save and close CRT.

Send back the file.

【Other tool Operation—SDK】

Download the SDK file from Dahua website: https://www.dahuasecurity.com/support/downloadCenter/softwares?id=2&child=3

Unzip the file

Enter the folder (B) of the function that you want to test, and copy all the file in folder bin (A) into the folder B.

Open the .exe in folder B and test the function.

For example: Copy all the files in C:\Users\27262\Desktop\General_NetSDK_Eng_Win64_IS_V3.050.0000005.4.R.190305\bin into   C:\Users\27262\Desktop\General_NetSDK_Eng_Win64_IS_V3.050.0000005.4.R.190305\demo\MfcDemo\01.RealPlayAndPTZControl\bin\x64release, open RealPlayAndPTZControl.exe to test.

Open the .exe file, and input the information to login.

After that you can try the basic function of PTZ.

If the SDK works fine, it indicates that the PTZ is ok.

Run VLC to check RTSP stream

Select Media > Open Network Stream >Network

Input: rtsp://IP:<port>/cam/realmonitor?channel=<channelNo>&subtype=<typeNo>

<ip> :the IP address of the Dahua video product.

<port >:the default port is 554. It can be omitted.

<channelNo> :the channel number. It starts from 1.

<typeNo> :the stream type. The <typeNo> of main stream is 0, extra stream 1 is 1, extra stream 2 is 2.


1. Input onvif username and password.

2. Add the PTZ

3. Modify the IP and apply.

Operation like Live video, as the left picture shows.
